Diana McIver, President. Diana McIver is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the DMA Companies. She has more than 30 years of experience in the area of affordable housing and has assisted DMA clients in the production of 15,000 units of affordable housing through various state, local and federal programs, as well as serving as a developer and owner of affordable housing properties. She is active in numerous associations and industry trade groups and is past President of the Texas Affiliation of Affordable Housing Providers, a state-wide industry trade association. In 2001, Diana received a federal appointment to the Commission on Affordable Housing and Health Care Needs for Seniors in the 21st Century, and her early career involved work with the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging and the National Center for Housing Management. She received a BA from the College of Idaho, Caldwell, Idaho. JoEllen Smith, Executive Vice President. JoEllen Smith has more than ten years of experience in senior and special needs housing. She joined DMA in March 1998 as a Development Assistant, and her career path included serving as a Development Manager and Program Director for DMA’s Section 202 and 811 nonprofit clients. JoEllen was promoted to Vice President in July 2002, Senior Vice President in November 2005, and Executive Vice President in 2008. In this role she is responsible for client relations, business development activities, oversight of all DMA’s 202/811 consulting services, housing tax credit consulting, and providing leadership for DMA’s staff. JoEllen serves on the Housing Committee, Texas Association of Homes and Services for the Aging. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University, Long Beach, California, in May 1997 and a Certificate in Gerontology in 1996. Camile Pahwa, Vice President. Camile Pahwa joined DMA in September 2001 as a Development Associate and was promoted to Vice President in November 2005. Camile serves as the Development Manager for projects developed by DMA Development Company using the Housing Tax Credit Program, as well as those developed by nonprofit clients. This involves working with development team members, cities, lenders, and investors; preparing financial proformas; submitting loan and grant applications: and managing the construction process. She is active in local Austin Housing groups and completed four years of service on the City’s Community Development Commission. Camile received a Master of Science in Community and Regional Planning from the University of Texas at Austin in May 2001 and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Smith College, in Northampton, Massachusetts in 1997. Janine Sisak, Vice President/ General Counsel. Janine Sisak joined DMA in December 2001 as a Development Manager and was promoted to Vice President in November 2005. She has more than six years of experience in affordable housing in addition to nine years of legal practice. She serves as a Development Manager for projects developed by DMA Development Company using the Housing Tax Credit Program, as well as those developed by nonprofit clients using the Housing Tax Credit program or HUD Section 202 or 811 financing. This involves working with development team members, cities, lenders, and investors; preparing financial proformas; submitting loan and grant applications: and managing the construction process. Additionally, Janine serves as DMA’s General Counsel and works closely with DMA Properties in asset management. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Tufts University, Medford, Massachusetts, where she graduated cum laude in May 1993. In May 1998, she received her Juris Doctorate from Fordham University School of Law, New York, New York. Ms. Sisak is a member of the State Bar of Texas. Sergio Amaya, Vice President. Sergio Amaya has twenty six years of experience in property and asset management and joined DMA Properties, LLC as Vice President in February 2005. In this role, Sergio oversees tax credit properties managed by DMA Properties, LLC, and develops policies and procedures for the firm’s management activities. This includes activities related to budgeting, operations, personnel, maintenance, compliance, and investor relations. His property management career started as part-time employment while a student at the University of Texas and evolved from onsite management responsibilities to the oversight of a national portfolio of multifamily and commercial properties. Immediately, prior to joining DMA Properties, Sergio served in key positions in several property management firms and most recently was the Managing Director for Kennedy Wilson where he supervised 2,600 units of residential properties in Austin, Dallas, College Station, San Marcos and San Antonio. Cassandra Ramirez , Development Manager. Cassandra Ramirez joined DMA in March 2004 as Development Intern and became a full time Development Assistant in June 2004. She was promoted to Development Manager in December 2006. In this role she works directly with DMA consulting clients in the development of housing financed though the Section 202, Section 811, HOME and AHP Programs. She also manages the company's web site and develops company marketing materials. She has experience in both planning and architecture firms, mainly focusing on urban design projects. Prior to joining DMA, Ms. Ramirez received a Master in Architecture degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She received a Bachelor of Science in Urban and Regional Studies from Cornell University in May of 2000, where she concentrated on affordable housing and graduated with honors. Nora Keane, Project Coordinator. Nora Keane joined DMA in August 2007 and currently serves as Project Coordinator. Nora assists in the firm's development and consulting activities, primarily in the areas of housing tax credit development and projects funded through the HUD Section 202 and 811 programs. She has experience working with nonprofit affordable housing organizations in both Austin and San Antonio. Ms. Keane received a Master of Science in Community and Regional Planning in 2007 from the University of Texas at Austin. She previously received a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from UT, where she concentrated on urban planning in Latin America and graduated with honors. Christine McIver, Operations/Compliance Manager. Christine McIver joined DMA Properties in September 2005. She is responsible for overseeing DMA Properties' financial reporting and compliance requirements. She also oversees the overall office operation of DMA Properties along with DMA Companies. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BSN in nursing and holds a current Texas RN license. Karen Sparks, Controller . Karen Sparks joined DMA as the company controller in July 2007. Karen previously worked for Wyndham Hotel Company for ten years and Trammell Crow Company for fifteen years. Karen has an extensive background in corporate accounting, payroll, accounts payable and receivable and partnership accounting. Karen is a Certified Public Accountant and graduated cum laude from the University of Texas at Dallas with a degree in Business and Public Administration with a concentration in accounting. Patricia Hensley, Operations Support Assistant. Patricia Hensley joined DMA in September 2007. She is responsible for the day to day office operations of DMA Companies. She provides administrative assistance with DMA Properties and assists with reporting requirements. Patricia has an Associates degree in Business Arts and is currently working on her Bachelor's degree. Nasrin Jozani , Accounting Assistant. Nasrin Jozani joined DMA in August 2007. She provides accounting duties for DMA Properties and supports the Controller in DMA financial operations. Christina White, Executive Assistant. Christina White joined DMA in February 2006 and was hired full time in August 2007. She assists in the the day to day office operations of DMA Companies and is executive assistant to Diana McIver. She also provides administrative and development support for DMA and DMA Development. Christina recently obtained a Texas real estate license.
