Diana McIver, President. Diana McIver is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the DMA Companies. She has more than 30 years of experience in the area of affordable housing and has assisted DMA clients in the production of 15,000 units of affordable housing through various state, local and federal programs, as well as serving as a developer and owner of affordable housing properties. She is active in numerous associations and industry trade groups and is past President of the Texas Affiliation of Affordable Housing Providers, a state-wide industry trade association. In 2001, Diana received a federal appointment to the Commission on Affordable Housing and Health Care Needs for Seniors in the 21st Century, and her early career involved work with the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging and the National Center for Housing Management. She received a BA from the College of Idaho, Caldwell, Idaho. JoEllen Smith, Executive Vice President. JoEllen Smith has more than twelve years of experience in senior and special needs housing. She joined DMA in March 1998 as a Development Assistant, and her career path included serving as a Development Manager and Program Director for DMA’s Section 202 and 811 nonprofit clients. JoEllen was promoted to Vice President in July 2002, Senior Vice President in November 2005, and Executive Vice President in 2008. In this role she is responsible for client relations, business development activities, oversight of all DMA’s 202/811 consulting services, housing tax credit consulting, and providing leadership for DMA’s staff. JoEllen serves on the Housing Committee, Texas Association of Homes and Services for the Aging. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University, Long Beach, California, in May 1997 and a Certificate in Gerontology in 1996. Janine Sisak, Senior Vice President/ General Counsel. Janine Sisak joined DMA in December 2001 as a Development Manager and was promoted to Vice President in November 2005. She has more than nine years of experience in affordable housing in addition to twelve years of legal practice. She serves as a Development Manager for projects developed by DMA Development Company using the Housing Tax Credit Program, as well as those developed by nonprofit clients using the Housing Tax Credit program or HUD Section 202 or 811 financing. This involves working with development team members, cities, lenders, and investors; preparing financial proformas; submitting loan and grant applications: and managing the construction process. Additionally, Janine serves as DMA’s General Counsel and works closely with DMA Properties in asset management. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Tufts University, Medford, Massachusetts, where she graduated cum laude in May 1993. In May 1998, she received her Juris Doctorate from Fordham University School of Law, New York, New York. Ms. Sisak is a member of the State Bar of Texas. Sergio Amaya, Executive Vice President. Sergio Amaya has twenty nine years of experience in property and asset management and joined DMA Properties, LLC as Vice President in February 2005. In this role, Sergio oversees tax credit properties managed by DMA Properties, LLC, and develops policies and procedures for the firm’s management activities. This includes activities related to budgeting, operations, personnel, maintenance, compliance, and investor relations. His property management career started as part-time employment while a student at the University of Texas and evolved from onsite management responsibilities to the oversight of a national portfolio of multifamily and commercial properties. Immediately, prior to joining DMA Properties, Sergio served in key positions in several property management firms and most recently was the Managing Director for Kennedy Wilson where he supervised 2,600 units of residential properties in Austin, Dallas, College Station, San Marcos and San Antonio. Stacy Kaplowitz, Project Manager. Stacy Kaplowitz joined DMA in August 2008. She serves as a Project Manager for projects developed using Housing Tax Credits or HUD Section 202 and 811 programs. She has more than 5 years of real estate development and project management experience. Prior to DMA, Stacy was a Realty Program Specialist in the Office of Property Management in the District of Columbia Government where she negotiated leases and business transactions for District owned and leased buildings. She also worked as a consultant at Brailsford and Dunlavey, a facility planning and program management firm where she managed development projects for public and private school clients. Stacy received a Masters of Public Affairs in 2004 from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and US History from Indiana University. She also received her Real Estate License in the District of Columbia in 2008. Karen Sparks, Controller . Karen Sparks joined DMA as the company controller in July 2007. Karen previously worked for Wyndham Hotel Company for ten years and Trammell Crow Company for fifteen years. Karen has an extensive background in corporate accounting, payroll, accounts payable and receivable and partnership accounting. Karen is a Certified Public Accountant and graduated cum laude from the University of Texas at Dallas with a degree in Business and Public Administration with a concentration in accounting. Nasrin Jozani, Accounting Assistant. Nasrin Jozani joined DMA in August 2007. She provides accounting duties for DMA Properties and supports the Controller in DMA financial operations. Dawn Delaney , Accounting Assistant. Dawn Delaney joined DMA in July 2009 in a part-time position to provide support to accounting staff. Ms. Delaney graduated from University of Texas in May 2006 with a BBA in Management. Patricia Hensley, Operations Manager. Patricia Hensley joined DMA in September 2007. She is responsible for managing, organizing, scheduling, and maintaining information related to all properties managed by DMA Properties. In addition, Patricia assists in the day to day operations of DMA Properties. She also oversees office management for all DMA Companies. Patricia has an Associates degree in Business Arts and is currently working on her Bachelor's degree. Amanda Burrier, Operation Support. Amanda Burrier has seven years of administrative and customer service experience and joined DMA in May 2009, where she has an Associates degree in Communications from Austin Community College. Daniela Hernandez-Mena, Operations Support Assistant. Daniela Hernandez-Mena joined DMA in April 2010 where she provides support and assistance for the DMA Companies. Daniela has worked in management for four years and has extensive customer service and administrative experience. She has a Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of North Texas.
