Family Eldercare is a community-based nonprofit organization that relies upon the support of the local community to provide effective and appropriate services to seniors, people with disabilities and their caregivers. Funded in part by a HUD Section 202 grant, Family Eldercare partnered with the City of Austin and several community organizations/foundations to create a vibrant neighborhood. DMA was hired by Family Eldercare as the consultant for their first venture into housing and successfully coordinated and oversaw the project's financing and construction. In January of 2005, the City of Austin's Neighborhood Housing and Community Development Department accepted a National Award of Excellence for Lyons Gardens.
